Recent news?  15th Jan 2009 - the Cottage is soon to be available for rent - 27th March '09

Friends, our fantastic tenants, having been with us for three years, are heading home and therefore the cottage is soon to be available for rent again. As first time landlords we offer a totally unparalleled service to whomsoever is fortunate to rent our beautiful new house. Why are we offering such a service? Well, we have rented ourselves and know only too well what ‘offerings’ there are around and how tenants can be exploited so we wanted to turn this on its head and make sure that the tenants can get the best value for money rental with an unparalleled level of service.

So, what is this ‘service’ that we are offering?

bullet

Wireless Broadband Internet Access

bullet

Satellite Television - receiver required

bullet

Professionally Maintained Garden

bullet

Professional House Cleaning

bullet

Organic Vegetable delivery

How much does this all cost? Well, it depends on the time of year for some services, whether you want the full range of services and the cost of third party providers as we will be employing professionals to undertake the services to ensure that the highest quality is achieved.

See the estimated prices below for the various services offered and the seasonal variation in costs:

bullet

Wireless Broadband Access = £17.50 per month (optional)

bullet

FreeSat Sky – Configuration free, additional services (Sky Movies etc. as payable to Sky)

bullet

Monthly Garden maintenance service (included)

bullet

Cleaning service = One visit per week at £30 each visit (optional)

bullet

Organic Vegetable Service = We can provide a selection of seasonal Organic vegetables direct from Vermont Farm delivered each weekend for £20 a week (optional)

But what about the property itself? I hear you call…

Well by all means peruse the pages on this site, but in essence the house is a totally new house built within the shell of an 1850’s building. The property is fully fitted throughout. The kitchen for instance has Neff integrated appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, double fan oven, halogen hob, 60/40 Fridge Freezer) so you don’t need to bring anything of your own – everything is brand new and of the best quality. The house has two bedrooms, both of which are en-suite with everything provided by Pastella Ceramics. To the outside you have a large raised decked area for entertaining and below a lawned area for relaxing plus parking for three cars.

So where is this heavenly place? Rue a la Dame, St. Saviour. Ideally suited for schools and getting to town either by car or on foot (10/20 mins respectively), yet surrounded by fields and ideal for weekend country walks in tranquility.

The cost? Well, if you are interested so far, please call 07797 736076 or 01534 874074 to arrange a viewing. We will not be the most expensive by any means but we hope to provide the best property to the right tenants and we look forward to meeting you soon!

Kind regards,

Chris and Amelia

Recent news?  2nd January 2009

So 2008 has come to a close and we start the New Year with a very frost laden garden (left).

We have all had a great Christmas and have used the break to clear out the garage (at long last - two skips required) and it is still full of the bare essentials (tools / tiles and useful materials).

During the process I removed the timber fencing to the rear which has exposed a further 4ft cavern that was hewn from the bed rock a fair few years ago - however massively exposing the fact that the garage is made of only two physical walls, nothing to join them together!

As you can see the garden is looking fairly different the the original image (shown below) - see Springbank Garden Plans - I have also updated a stack of family photos from the last two years so that friends and family can see how the nippers are shaping up.

Anyway - keep checking us out as I can now access the site again to keep it up to date - hoorah!

Coming soon - the cottage will be up for rent again from the end of March - if you know any 'J' cats that need a 2 bed cottage with garden and parking, don't hesitate to send them our way!

If you want to take a look at where the house & cottage have come from, by all means peruse The Gallery - Cottage

Thank you for visiting SpringbankHouse - We hope that you find the site entertaining and if you have any comments, hopefully productive, or any questions regarding the contacts that we have made to date for sympathetic suppliers of heritage materials, please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail - chris@springbankhouse.org

The weather at Springbank? Despite the recent wet weather, thanks to the under floor heating throughout, both the main house and the cottage are 'toasty' come rain or shine.

Here are a 'few' pic's of the house as is and as it develops. I shall try to keep them in order of image capture so that there is some kind of chronological order. If there are images that don't make any sense, that'll be part of the house that has fallen down or some such calamity!
